“Nuptial Flight” is an acrylic painting on canvas. It features a pair of bald eagles in their courtship activity. This behavior – locking talons high above the ground, while in flight – may appear dangerous, but it’s a normal behavior know as the “cartwheel display”. While entangled, the pair begins spiraling downward, only to unlock talons and disengage before hitting the ground. Charley captures this beautifully in this large and striking work.
